A unique spin on the supper club rage, the Highland Park Gastro Club is for area residents with a shared interest in food — cooking, dining and conversation.
Meals are prepared and planned by members for members. No fancy china needed. Bonus points for those who know their way around Central Market or have recently watched ‘Chefs‘ on Netflix.
HOW IT WORKS
Dinners & events – Dates to be confirmed by designated hosts (including dinners, tastings, guest chef demos, happy hours, parties and nights out)
Members – Part of the fun is getting to know our neighbors, especially those we might not meet in our daily lives. To minimize driving, we are focusing on the Highland Park West and Balcones areas along with the nearby communities of Allandale South and Tarrytown.
Commitment – We are seeking neighbors who would like to share food adventures. Most join in pairs — couples, friends, partners. Requirements include:
- Enjoy cooking and trying new things
- Able to host a casual dinner for 8 people in your home
- Desire to share ideas, experiences or expertise (or interest in learning)
- Responsible and timely RSVPs (this is very important to us)

Notices – To receive automatic notices when new menus or events are posted, click the “follow” request on this page. Some of our events are last minute pop-up gatherings and music events, which are sent out via email to members.
Food – We want to keep it casual and comfortable. Emphasis will be around quality ingredients and member-prepared dishes. Courses will be assigned to members, so everyone always has a dish to bring. Events will range from sit-down dinners around a theme or casual alfresco dinning, tapas, happy hours, seasonal ingredients, or whatever the host dreams up.
Libations – Wine, craft beer, cocktails
Costs – Expenses will be evenly divided among guests and hosts. Effort will be made to keep costs low and provide a variety of events/occasions. Members and Subs will contribute $40 per couple to an annual party fund to cover supplies and libations — and to make it easier on hosts to plan and prepare. Note: This is not a public meet-up, but a private group for neighbors who sign up
